As I prepare remarks for this newsletter, I am still in awe of the scope and quality of information, not to mention the comradery developed during this past year’s conference, held December 9th. To Life!’s 4th Annual Conference exceeded expectations, and was well received by all. Preparations were been in the works for almost a year as the To Life! staff, advisory committee and presenters sought to bring forth an agenda that reflected a forward thinking and forward acting organization. Our number one priority continues to be that we help people find a path forward after a diagnosis of breast cancer - and that we help their friends and family do the same.
What does finding a path forward mean? Finding resilience in the face
of adversity. How can/does To Life! help? We provide information about
disease, treatment options and support. Quality information, treatment
options and complementary therapy options provide pathways toward
improved health and wellness. As with prior conferences, we were
treated to a presentation on upcoming scientific discoveries that give
us all hope for a brighter future.
These programs provide a
pathway and this pathway = resilience. What about support - do we all
need that too? Yes, we do! And it can come from friends and family as
well as through your connections with To Life!. Outreach via our
mentoring or support groups under the guidance and umbrella of To Life!
form bonds and these bonds = resilience. In short, we hope that our
outreach affects you and helps you reach your own personal level of
All the best,
Founder and President

Dear Friends and Supporters:
January is a time for promises and resolutions. At To Life! our mission is to provide relevant programs and services for you. To this end, we have a renewed opportunity for reflection and to make positive changes for the year ahead. We resolve to continue to do so, ensuring that our programs and services reflect the needs of our community. While we bid a sad farewell to Laurie Ballard, our former Executive Director, we are thrilled to announce our new Executive Director—Eileen Howe Bird. Eileen is no stranger to To Life! Many of you know her already as a supporter, a volunteer and of course a friend. Eileen comes to us with years of both corporate and non-profit experience. We are lucky and excited to have her work with us. As you get to know her you will see her quiet compassionate style and her thoughtful consideration of programs and services.
As our New Year’s resolution to you we again resolve to provide relevant and helpful programs and services. Please let us know what you need and of course we will keep getting you current information, ongoing support, and naturally fun events to help support our free of charge programs and services.
With our change in the Executive Director we are also making a fresh call for new volunteers. As you make your resolutions for the coming year, I ask you to include helping us at To Life! We have initiated an ambassador program to assist in spreading the word about To Life! Be a mentor, help run a support group or help us plan and run events. Let’s all resolve to work together and make this a banner year.
